Good morning

30 degrees and a shaker of snow over night. Should be gone soon. Better to give than receive! then I am truely blessed. The evening will be spent with Daughter and her inlaw's family, it has become a tradition since I no longer celebrate the 24th with liquid refreshment. Although I had lot's of fun those days. Christmas is different after the kids leave home. Everyone have a Merry Christmas....S.J.

Good morning. It's 41° and cloudy. The high will be 53° and there's a 30% chance of rain around noon increasing to 70% around 2:00 pm.

Looks like it's gonna be another wet one today. I have a new shipment of Stoney Mountain flawed resin castings coming. I also found an HO Scale Mystery Machine (Scooby Doo) and snapped it up. Last night I HAD a $50 Visa gift card. It has less than $15 on it now. That and the $26 on the other gift card will be used for getting groceries at the end of the month. That'll give me some extra money to use elsewhere. I have to see one man about a couple of F3B dummy units and another man about a boxcar. You fellas know who you are.

Nothing much planned for today. I didn't get much sleep last night, an hour or two and I have a raging headacheCrying. I'll be raiding the Aleve bottle shortly. The pain is about to drive me out of my mindDead. I'm out of meds due to my prescriptions being expired and I'm fresh out of doctors visits on my Medicaid. They'll be reset after the first of the year but until then it's not going to be pleasantIck!. I'm already noticing problems with my blood pressure going up a bit and some discomfort concerning a prostate problem. Acid reflux, gall stone pain and diverticulitis are making themselves known again so a good nights sleep is going to be hard to come by. Can't wait to get started on more projects. They help take my mind off my medical problems for a while and keep me from going up the wall due to boredom. Being homebound consists largely of boredom if you don't have something to occupy your time.

Afternoon all!

Happy Christmas Eve and Merry Christmas for tomorrow! Put up some lights on the house today. The last 2 months have been extremely busy and just no time - compounded by the front walk replacement and much needed rain muddying up the front of the house. Cold enough the last couple of days to firm up the ground so out came the lights and ladder - SWMBO is pleased!

Jeffrey - Angel to help you through the pain.

Fife - This is the first year in many that I have finished shopping prior to the 23rd/24th. The malls here are just too crowded but as you note the CITGOs are pretty accessable!

Jets not doing well against the Giants. Cowboys needed the Jets to win as the C'Boys are not capable of getting to the playoffs on their own. Zzz

Have a safe, festive, great Christmas Eve all!

Regards, Roy

Afternoon all.  Merry and safe Christmas Eve to all you gentlemen, Sir J and RT.  Whistling Cathy, boyfriend [nice guy.  kind of rednecky but a good gun lover and owner] and Frankie came for lunch [fried chicken and eastern NC bar-be-que].  Opened presents and visited.  Frankie's girlfriend and kids were busy but visited by IPhone [yes]. Confused  Youngest and Grandchildren are coming Wed. from Wilmington.  I'll have two Christmas days. Big Smile

Hope all who have Children and Grandchildren get together during the holidays.  If you get a chance, post some photos on the pot.  Got a neat stamp from the Buckeye.  Grandson with train was the picture on the stamp.

Filling out the Home Depot survey.  $5,000 gift card if you are winner.  That would just about pay for my new layout materials in the box. Big Smile

Now to In-laws for a thingy.

God bless.

Good evening Guys,

Had a great day with the grandkids, son, daughter, sister and the gang at my son’s place.  Big Smile

It ended early so as per plan the wifey and I stopped at Menards in Morris and would you know it

all of the train sets were sold and they only had 3 Menards cars left.  Crying  On a good note got some smoking deals on Woodland Scenics Birch trees Waters Edge # TR3536 and Sun Kissed shade trees #TR3610. They list for $12.99 and were on sale for $7.99 so I got 6 sets, also had some LEMAX Ocean Display Mat 18"x48" on sale for $4.50 for my pond.  Yes

The strangest thing happened when we got home.   Huh?  I thought I heard a clatter it the basement and when I went seems one of the Tardis Train Crew landed on my train table.    Hmm   Don’t know which one of them it is because they are kind of small. I have a hunch it is SJ from the cane he is using. Only hope he is not lost or is bringing me gifts helping out Santa for the night.  Laugh  Smile, Wink & Grin

Can you guys help me ID this intruder?

Time to go. Please to all of my friends here on the Pot. have a safe and Merry Christmas!  Angel to all in need.

Kev.

Sorry to hear about your cat RT. They become a big part of the family. There are days when my pal George is the only living thing I see and I would be crushed if he were to not come home one day but out here in the woods you never know.

Take care.

Our cats are our children as we never had any so we are really attached to them. He is 14 years old I was wrong earlier hes not next to oldest he's next to next to oldest as the one I call the oldest we had for almost 2 years befor this one and in the middle there we have one that shown up on our porch that actually might be the oldest or next to oldest as he was full grown when he showed up and he walked right in our house right to the bedroom and jumped on the bed and went to sleep between the 2 pillows like he owned the place. and that was like 15 years ago so him and frank are the oldest. then this one ( Mr.Blue-eyes)

Good night all.  Back from In-laws.  Jack, you are right.  Kids running through the house and Pam and Sisters singing and etc. [too much wine].  I did have a good glass of Eggnog BIL brought.  Tasted more like whiskey colored with eggnog.  BIL and grown nephew could hardly drink it.  Didn't bother and old guy like me.

Happy Christmas eve to all,

Did a little final shopping today.  My wife picked out something she liked and I was happy to buy it since I didn't have a clue about what to get her.  Also hit the grocery stores and picked up some more goodies for tomorrow.  My #1 son calls me tonight from a restaurant where he is at a Christmas get together with his wife's family.  He just wanted to know if I would baby sit his bird next week.  Said he didn't want to surprise me with it at the last minute.

Chief, sounds like a good get together with your family and friends.  Can't go wrong with that Smithfield Bar-B-Que.  Speaking of egg nog,  I like egg nog ice cream.  Since my drinking days are over, I don't hit the real stuff anymore but have one for me.  Merry Christmas to you and yours.

For dinner tonight we just threw together some omletts with ham, bacon, cheese and chives.  Didn't want to go out on Christmas eve.

V8 Dennis, glad you made it to Portland. Hope you had a good train ride.  Have a wonderful Christmas.

I picked up a copy of Polar Express for myself while out shopping today.  I think it will become a Christmas classic.

Jeffrey in La.  Prayers for your pains and hope things go well until the new year.

Cant settle for anything on TV tonight.  Finally left it on the Sound of Music.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow forumites and to all a good night.

Evenin' All.

Great day at the museum, assumed it would be slow but you know what you get when you spell assume. It was non-stop from opening to closing, lots of youngsters as well as old youngsters. Unfortunately the North Pole Central Docksider is starting to exhibit some issues, will try to nurse it along for awhile since it would probably cost more to repair than to replace. All returned to the shelves.

Got the bird in the brine for tomorrow. A couple of honey-do's done, now the tank is about empty so it will be an early bedtime tonite.

If I don't get a chance to pop-in tomorrow let me take tis time to wish one-n-all a

Merry Christmas !

And may God bless.

Nite all, enjoy tomorrow with friends & family.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s.  I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and to thank all of you have given in a most trying year.  This is truly a Christmas miracle each year being with all of you.  For all of us to be connected across thousands of miles is a wonderful gift.   I wish nothing but the best for you and your families for 2012.

I got the latest CTT today.  Great issue.  Will have plenty to peruse next week on vacation.  All the kids will be here for lunch.  The Polar Express is around the tree, the Classics 384E is in the backroom with a LEGO village and the Sante Fe Passenger train is set up on the back porch.  I will be having streusel for breakfast on the dining car before I send it to "Points East".  TBIL and I can drive as we will have to be on the lookout for the tailend of Santa's run.  The recent enhancements to the navigational system should help.  Went to see "Tintin" Friday night.  Once again, we had an exclusive showing.   Could get used to this.  I hope everyone has a great day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Ho HO Ho!  Just got home from my folks' house a little while ago.  Brother got a bottle of Bushmills and I got a bottle of Crown and all the guys had a few drinks and a nephew whipped out a guitar in time for us to serenade the extended fam with some fun music.  We did sneak in Folsom Prison Blues, which was my request.  Nobody else knew City of New Orleans, The Old 97, or even Casey Jones!!!!  Oh well, we had a good time.  TARDIS Crew - I have the beacon on and most of a bottle of whiskey, some icebox cookies, peanut brittle, and iced rice-krispy treats.  Come on and pick me up!

Fife - Smile

SJ - BARK!  Ruff, woof, BARK!  (Chewy says - God Blessed, us every one!)

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful day.  The kids were up early to open presents and everyone was pleased.  We had cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole for breakfast and even a little Prosecco.  The wife bought me some great items: Band of Brothers collection; a new Dremel and other tools; MMA wrestling shorts; and a couple of other train items still on the way from Trainworld.  She cannot remember what she bought so I'll have to wait.  We'll be having dinner soon: ham, butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, and salad.

I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas.

Merry Christmas all

Chief Frank's daddy was a wild cat and he is still about 80% muscel and 21LBS and he rules the house if they get out of line he gives them the evil eye and if that don't work one pop from him and they get back in line. He has always been the leader if you wish to use that term. He definitely has been and is one of a kind. But when he laid down with blue last night it just tore me up as he knew what was going on and it was like his way of saying good bye to his buddy.

Merry Christmas everyone,

Bright and sunny 36 degrees.

Nothing on the plate for wifey today and me but do have grandkids, daughter, and in-laws coming over tomorrow. So we are just going to chill out and I will start the preparations for tomorrow later today.

Christmas sure seems different once the kids are grown and gone. They have their own lives and other priorities that they need to fulfill. Kind of miss those Christmas mornings with house full and the look in the kids eyes. Guess it is just another phase in life we all have to go through.

So again, from Sandra, George the cat and me.

Merry Christmas!

Kev

Good morning. It's 47° and wet. Rain is falling. The high will be 50° and it will still be raining. There's a 50% chance of rain this morning and afternoon increasing to 70% this evening.

Merry Christmas!

No white Christmas this year. Here that's a good thing as the state doesn't have the equipment or the budget to clear away the white muck. No modeling plans for today. There's a Christmas dinner at my parents place later so I'll be going to that. I got about five hours of sleep last night. That's better than I expected.
