Good Evening
its 55 now
Colder next week. A quiet day, spent some time with part of our little family and had thanksgiving dinner all over again just like most of you did. Then I came home and couched for an hour. Granny saw her Red Wings win,I am still shaking my head at yesterdays very poor showing by the Lions. It's on every local news today. Banlla is at the ready...S.J.

Doug - you had all the fun
Cloudy here and might rain tonight.. Nothing significant but certainly welcome.
A&M lost the game to Texas last night - numerous penalties cost A&M the big one.
Having dinner with the visiting family tonight.
Have a great day all!

Hey guys. It sounds like everybody had a good Thanksgiving. I had a great dinner with my family yesterday. It did not take long for my dad to crash after dinner. It never does. I followed his example a short time later.
This morning I had to do some work on my satellite dish before I could get on line. Something got hungry and chewed though the cable. My dad and I could some new cable and put a metal sheath on it then put that in a PVC conduit. Whatever bites through it now will need a big set of choppers.

Good morning all,
Had a big dinner yesterday with turkey and all the trimmings. Still have some clean up left on the roasting pan this morning. A friend stopped by yesterday and dropped off some pictures of our train chase of U.P. 844 a few days ago. He's the one who plays drums in the Dixieland band. They are playing a festival in Sandy Eggo this weekend but I will not be going this year.
Talked with sis in N.C. before Thanksgiving and she is still holding up pretty good. She has a visiting nurse that comes in during the week. Sis said the doctors are still considering "patching up" her back fractures. The cancer had weakened some of bones in the back and something snapped when she tried to do some heavy lifting. That is how she first discovered that she had a problem. Subsequent xrays revealed a lot of cancer damage to the bones.
The rain missed us on Thursday. Looks like clear skies and warmer weather now for the next few days. Staying away from black friday madness at shopping malls this week end. I don't need anything that bad. #2 Son went up to Ventura on the Coast today to do some railfanning he said. #1 Son and his family are home this weekend for some much needed rest. He works for the Federal government in a job that takes the life out of you sometimes.
We shared our pictures with the extended family from our North Carolina trip yesterday. Told them all about the Bar=B-Que and his honor, the Chief who lives in Rolesville. We did not make connections with him due to time constraints but talked on the phone briefly.
Have a great day all,
Ray

Good Morning
43 now, 50s later.
Sounds like Doug M had a pretty traditional thanksgiving. I had enough to eat but did not overdo. I missed the Tardis ride last night, kept ZZZ while trying to watch TV. Gave in and went to bed early....S.J.
Good morning. It's 48°F and sunny. The high will be 69°F and there will be low clouds. There's a possibility of a thunderstorm after midnight.I don't really know what I'll be doing today. There are several cars that need some weathering and there's always some cleanup work to be done. I'm expecting a package to arrive any day now and I have no idea what's in it.Thanksgiving dinner was at my sisters place yesterday. It was a full house. Several of our area fire fighters and their families were in attendance and my niece and nephew had some friends there. After dinner it seemed that every place that could be used for a nap was occupied. I've never been able to understand that napping after eating turkey. I've never had a need to sleep after eating a big turkey dinner. I guess I'm one of the few people it doesn't effect.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 47 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to have several days of nice weather, so I'll probably put out the Christmas lights. Also, need to start sprucing up the bank layout, mainly adding gloss medium to the river bed. My boys had a great time at the game last night. Sounds like a hot time was had at cnw1995-dom. Dinner was not without a little drama at our gathering last night as well. Although I didn't feel I ate a lot, I could feel the button on my Levi straight legs heating up like an ICBM in a Kansas silo.
I loathe Friday. It should be called selfish Friday.
Roy - #34 had some good runs last night.
Aloha from a sunny Crystal Lake where the youngsters have been out all night shopping.... Had a nice T'giving, along with the requisite family drama, including a relative almost burning the dinner table. Congratulations on your son's milestone, Dennis. Good hunting. Mike C., sounds like everything ran nicely. Hope to put out Christmas decorations and lights today.

Great day with great food and family & friends. Did have to take a time out for a bit, just ran out of gas. Excused myself and took a short nap.
Hope I didn't overdo it with the sodium today, the scales will tell the tale over the next day or two when I step on them first thing in the morning.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Chief, nice set up. Tomorrow afternoon, I am taking my son on his first hunting venture. Bringing the 6.5mm with open sights. We are also bringing the camera in case he'd rather shoot them with that. We had a smoked turkey that was very tasty, but not quite as good as a fry'ed one. Plenty of grub followed by pumpkin bread, white chocolate and caramel cheesecake, and a pudding pie. We had the violin teacher over and all had a good time. Her husband was a retired exec with th Southern RailRoad. Been a widow for some time now.
I hope that each of you get to spend the rest of the weekend with friends and family, thankful for so many blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving all!
50's here so we have had a fire at the SIL's and one here at our house tonight.
RT - beautiful sentiments you offered. Thanks for what you do!
Watched Macy's parade this morning. Good show.
Full of turkey and pie. Wife's nephew fried a turkey and the SIL baked one in the traditional manner. Good conversation and a great time had by all. Fun stories from past and present.
Watched the Cowboys pull a win and now watching the last Texas vs Texas A&M game on ESPN. They are showing highlights from past games and unfortunately showcased Ricky Williams who could have been a great NFL player but turned into a drug/pothead after graduating Texas. What's wrong with their thinking?.
Hope eveyone has a great evening!
43 and cloudy all day.
I tried not to overeat today, but I had enough. I already had pie but might have a little banilla with the guys..S.J.
Good evening all,
It was a cloudy day in SE Indiana. Promised the grandson the next time he came down there would be lots of trains and I think I came thru for him. Ran the Lionel Classics 384E set upstairs for him and the latest Lionel Scout in the back bedroom. All the grandkids played with some log sets and some Geo track sets Lucas had when he was a kid. The "saucy wench" had a wonderful turkey dinner and it was a good day. I hope everyone has a good day. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Seeing I had to work today and I'm off the weekend we decided to have our thanksgiving dinner Saturday that way I can be there to help pull the turkey out when she wants to bast it and put it back in. Well with knowing that when I went in this am I saw they were short one person so I told my supervisor I would work tonight to help them get out ( the 4-8 P.M. shift) which she said thank-you no body was willing to. we got done about 6:15 so we got off early but paid for the full 4 hours so that worked for me. The normal crew we get off at 3:30 P.M. well they let them go at 2:30 today so they got to go early to and be with there families. I had a vet whose wife was in visiting him say it appears you don't mind working on the holiday you seem very happy being here I just told him to be honest I feel like I'm with family when I'm here his wife said thats the nice's thing I've heard from some one in your situation don't you have any family here? I said just my wife but being with my fellow vets I feel at home she said I can see that I then told her my wife and I plan to have ours this weekend as I'm off. she nodded with that.
So I had a good day hope the rest of you did too.

Had a good heavy dinner today, several times. I told my sister and brother-in-law to just roll me home and leave me beside the door. They wouldn't so I managed to get up into my van with the help of some wax paper and a shoe horn. Hope I didn't panic one of my neighbors when I got out of the van. I slid out and landed on my feet. He may have thought it was an earth tremor. He is convinced an earthquake is going to split the central plains and submerge everything from the gulf coast to the Canadian border. I got home without incident.
Happy Thanksgiving Guys!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stopping in for a quick cup.
Haven't checked the Pot since my last post.
Took off work yesterday to get some outside stuff done. Rain put the kabosh to that.Ended up taking Mrs to an ENT Doc. Her severe sinus infection ended up in her ear. The result of a severe ear ache was the ear drum ruptured to relieve the pressure. Doc gave her two different antibiotics. Said she should be fine in a week or two. She's still not feeling well so we postponed our Turkey dinner til Sunday.
After we were at the doc yesterday we went to McD's and grabed luch . While we ate I took grandson (we were babysitting him) behind the Station Mall to watch trains. We were lucky to see a container train going both ways and a mixed frieght that had about 25 or 30 cars each with 2 brand new Case-IH combines traveling east. Never saw that many on one train.
Today's been a lazy day. went to Mass at 9:00 then napped through the Macy's Parade. After that I made us Ham & Candied sweet potatoes for lunch. Now I'm headed to watch the 1947 Miracle on 34th St.
Tomorrow and Saturday will be outside days. (I hope)
Maybe catch up on the pot tonight
Prayers for those in need

Happy Thanksgiving to all on the CTT Forum coffee pot.
Chief, interesting names for those scopes. Crockett and Boone. I wonder what kind of scopes Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone used.
Doug, no more chest pains today. I think it was indigestion.
8N, I am using distilled water in the steam engine now but don't know what the previous owner was using. He said he only ran it once but I bet he used tap water.
Laz, don't take Minnie with you on that deer hunt. She is working for Walt Disney to save Bambi's mama.
Getting ready to work on the turkey. It feels like it is thawed out now. My kids and grandson are coming over this afternoon. We did not cook for the last two years but decided to do it this time
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Bayville NJ!
Dinner will be here as some family members enjoy the turkey.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL YOU GENTLEMENT AND BUCKEYE TOO.
Vacumed the house with the Dyson. Everyone needs one. Worth the $$$$. Now wifey and I will do leaves.
She worked hard at her Mom's yesterday doing all that could be cooked before this AM. We will go to MIL's for 2 PM big meal. I'll come back and get my two companions [Lucy and Finn, Burg stays with Mom] and hit the road north to the lake house.
Concreting my big lake house shelter [23 X 40] as got a steal of a price [guy does not have any work right now].
Hope to sneak away for a deer hunt down east.
Dennis, found a Remington 700 CDL Boone and Crocket .30-06 to match my .243 [not manufactured anymore as limited edition]. Top it with a Leupold VX III Boone & Crocket scope. Now I will have a matching pair.
SIL says we are buying "the box". That will be the new year project. Only have to move it about 13 miles.
Thank the Lord for a great year.
Best to all of you. God bless.
PS: 8N, don't worry, Buckeye made up for it.
