The Flyerville Polka
Posted by Timboy on Friday, December 31, 2010 7:14 PM

Da-Da-Da-Da-Ta-Da – Flyers!

We’re from the town with that great Flyer train,

We cheer the Gilbert Flyers.

AC and his friends are all on the layout.

Go out and get them, Flyers.

Guilford, and New Haven and Mini-Craft and Branford.

We love you American Flyers.

It’s been many years in coming,

Just keep that American Flyer machinery humming

Reverse unit, Reverse unit, keep them cycling, keep adjusting that pawl.

Smoke box, Smoke box, keep the Flyers always best of all!

AC, AC, do your thing against the other trains,

You run from year to year, we’re so glad to run you here,

Now join with me, and sing that Flyer cheer-er-ER!

We’re from the town with that great Flyer train,

We cheer the Gilbert Flyers.

Running’s a habit, not only a dream,

Go out and get them, Flyers.

Guilford’s Gorillas are here for the show,

And so it AC’s army,

It’s been many years in coming,

Just keep that Flyer machinery humming

Chuff-chuff, chuff-chuff, take that smoking all way up the track!

Chuff-chuff, chuff-chuff, let’s smoke and smoke and never lack!

Open-frame motors, can you believe we have a running train?

The Flyers are so great and so hard to overrate,

Good things will come to those who work and wait.

Da-Da-Da-Da-Ta-Da – Flyers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh  It used to always be my goal to see if I could get milk to come out of kids' noses in the school cafetauditorimasium at lunch time.  I still like to try - even though now it might be coffee, soda or whiskey. Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Does that make me a bad person?

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL TRAINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might like tater tots more if there hadn't been a kid in my class that topped them with elmer's glue!

Maybe he was tripping, thinking the glue was like mayonaise.

HOLY MOLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I always treated the Cafe Ladies like they were my Grammy and I acted like Little Timmy around them.  They all seemed to like me and sometimes gave me a little extra.  I think they knew what I was doing, but they liked the attention.  I always chat up the cashiers at the grocery store.  I can see them sometimes recognize me when I'm in line.  I think I've always gotten better service from people by being extra nice when it wasn't expected.  And why not?  It doesn't cost me anything and I sometimes reap the rewards.  Win-win!
