D&H FM Trainmaster
Posted by Benjamin Maggi on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 12:37 PM

I saw one of these running at a local train show, and another online in someone's layout pictures. Searching through google to turn up the manufacturer and item number has been fruitless. Can someone tell me who made this engine and the item #? Thanks.

And yes... I am a huge D&H fan and fully realize the the D&H never owned any FMs!

Williams did a run in 1996. It may still be a catalog item.

I believe the original Williams product number was FM215.

From the most useful book to ever go out of print: Greenberg's Roadname Guide to O Gauge Trains (first and only edition, 1997).

Thank you for the answer. I had no idea such a book/guide existed, and found it pretty cheaply online. Though 13 years out of date, it is probably a better resource then nothing. Thanks again.

There wasn't a market for it at the time and, alas, now it would be close to impossible to update with that many years of product manufacture behind us. I still keep a thumb-worn copy at my desk.

Benjamin,

If, you are looking for Williams and Bachmann/Williams, may I suggest 'The Western Depot' in California:  http://www.westerndepot.com/index.php/cPath/21_503_265
Sorry, but I'm experiencing technical difficulties--known as: 'Computer Illiteracy!'

The proprietor has a large selection of Williams, as well, as the newer Williams made by Bachmann and most original Williams are new old stock, in the original boxes, etc.

I've dealt with them regarding original Williams products from 2004, as, most of my local hobby shops stop carrying old stock.

Having spoken with the proprietor, he said that he buys up a large inventory of original old stock Williams and new stock of Bachmann/Williams.

Good Luck,

Ralph

Thanks for the head's up. I will contact them tomorrow about whether they have one or not. I don't remember, but at the train show I thought it was silver and blue but in one picture I have seen it as gray and blue. Hum...
