Does anyone manufacture O-scale 53' intermodal equipment
Posted by Doublestack on Friday, October 8, 2010 10:21 PM

I'm looking for O scale 53' intermodal equipment (well cars, containers, chassis.)    I can find plenty of 40' and some 48' equipment, but nothing in 53'     Since that is the dominant size for North American domestic transportation, I'm surprised at that.

Am I missing someone's products out there?

Checked the websites for MTH, Atlas O,  Lionel,  E-bay, and Googled it.   Nada!

I've thought about buying 40 or 48' equipment and kitbashing (stretching it) but I'd prefer to buy 53's

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx, Dblstack

I am surprised that neither Atlas, Lionel or MTH make a 53 foot container, especially MTH. From what I have seen MTH makes alot of differant stuff for O gauge, even different road numbers for the same freight cars, so you can make consist without having to re-stencil your cars.
