175 Rocket Launcher Fan Not Working
Posted by jjm on Saturday, July 3, 2010 9:41 PM
I have one of the new rocket launchers, but the fan to blow the smoke through the piping is not spinning. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any simple ways to check if it is the fan or the circuit board?

You should be able to access the circuit board and  the fan. The fan should have a label on it that states what voltage it runs at.--- probably 12VDC---   find the wires from the fan at the circuit board and apply the voltage that the fan runs at. It should operate, as these fans usually have a failure time of 10,000 hours or more(since they are meant to run continuiosly 24/7). If the fan runs, then something on the control board has gone bad. Finding the bad part may be easy(if it burned up) or impossible. Getting it replaced/repaired may also be impossible, as Lionel most probably has NO spare boards.
