If someone was rich as in loaded,,, how many square feet would it take to make an O scale Baily Yard?

You are talking about ACRES, not square feet. The Union Pacific website lists Bailey yard at 2850 acres, and 8miles long. 2850 acres diviided by 48 = 59.375 acres needed to model the Bailey yard in  full scale O Gauge. I don't even want to think about what the 985 turnouts are going to cost someone with more Dollars than sense. It would most certainly be impressive to see, but imagine the layout that you could have in 59 acres, heck I'd gladly settle for a 5.9 acre layoutBig Smile

8 miles long in O scale would be 880 feet long! I've got 14 feet to play with so I'm apparently a few turnouts short of a classification yard.

Imagine the power draw!  I could see it like that scene from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, when Clark turns on the lights and the whole grid dims.

You are talking about ACRES...

Well, close, but just over an acre.  1.2369791 would be pretty close.

60.1 feet by 880 feet should be about the space required if it was strictly rectangular...  figure 900' x 260' though, due to the shape, and you will need access to about 5.5 acres to do Bailey Yard in O Gauge out behind your house.
