Since it is STILL Sunday here on the Left Coast, and I got off work early, thought I would throw in a contribution.

First, I would like to compliment the previous posts,

Tom, (Spankybird) - If there was an award for SPF you DEFINETLY, deserve 1st Place!  Your photos are ALWAYS, appropriate to the current occassion.  And, I never tire from your layout.  You're one of the reasons I always check SPF.

Bill, (Seayakbill) - Another fantastic photo expose of your layout.  I hope some day mine may look as good.  Enjoy the theme train!

Jim,  (Sturgeon-Phish) - Everytime I look at your photos, I think of the AF, I gave away.  (Missouri Pacific ABA), and others.  I admire your work and efforts on the AF.  They were WAY ahead of their time.  The photos are fantastic!-

Laz, (Laz, (I know your name but won't use it)),  - Hey, old photos are great, I'm going to post some.  At least you posted, better than I normally do.  I saw my first Coal Tipple this week, they are great.  Saw one that was mounted so that the track was surface level.  Very Interesting.

Ray, (Raymans), Ray, I have one complaint!  You didn't post enough photos!  Really nice work, and good on the camera too!

Sarge, (Sarge-RMB),  Sarge please see Ray's comment above!  Same thing applies.  The detail and backgrounds are really fantastic.  Good job!

Marty, (MartyE), You're probably floating around the country someplace.  I don't know when you have the time to do anything on your layout!  Still like the progress!  (My offer still stands when your in LA).  Oh yeah, I still remember the episode about Kodi and the revamping of your layout.  You failed to mention there are 2 B units in that picture.

OK, so now I'am going to throw up a few older pictures.  These are from the CTT Car Exchange activity, currently in place.  The pics are some of the misfortunes some of the cars have undergone.  (Hopefully, the owners wont be too upset when they ultimately arrive home, but it was a sacrifice for enjoyment of all.  I'm sure they will understand.)

1.   Fife's car arrived in California with a contraband load of a Southern Delicacy, which was impounded.

 2.  John Fullerton's car met with a tramatic demise, his car was lost on the way to the Far East, when it was carrying a load of contaminated transformers.

3.  Brent's Car "Susie-Q", of course had a horrible mess, when the car was carrying a load of pastries!

4.  Then there was the CHIEF's car, got here and totally looked disgusting from all the grime crossing the dessert, but no problem!  We repainted it!  Looked better than the original.  And repaired the "wobbling".

5.  And when the Slurry arrived from Florida, it was put to good use, repaving all the roads.  (We did have to get all the gator parts out of the concentrate though.)  Thanks, Rich !

6.  Then Jim's car, (Stugeon), arrived just in type for our 4th of July celebration.  Being the only "American Flyer" in the mix, how much more appropriate could that have been.  (Sorry about all the deco's, (not really, but the nice thing to say))

7.   Buckeye's car arrived and created all kinds of Havoc!  Seems some people were having a "Rail Honorarium Celebration" trackside.  And, the old Ohio State car just ran 'em down!  (Civil action is still pending).

8. And the last car that has arrived, was a timely contribution from Wes.  (California was having some budget issues.)

Sorry about all the damage, but know you contributors will understand!

EDIT:

Frank, (Frank53), I think you posted while I was composing.  Nice looking set!  It looks brand new, but the number tells me it isn't?  I'm confused.

Thank you. The A-B New Haven is an original post war set which was sold into my local hobby shop on Saturday morning. I bought it Saturday afternoon. Cosmetically it is in 'like new" or better condition. It was a one year only issue in 1958 and I have been trying to find one for almost five years. This is the first one I have ever seen, let along had the opportunity to purchase and it just stumbled into my local shop.

Here's a few shots of the various Plasticville and K-Line buildings on my layout. I recently replaced a K-Line Factory with the Plasticville Independence Hall, and am now thinking about swapping out quite a few buildings. I took these photos so if I don't like the way things end up, I can return the layout back to the way it is now.

Here are several shots of the blacksmith and anvil I brought back from the SQUASH-A-PENNY in Doswell, VA.  "ENGLAND" is molded on the base of the man, and along the top side of the anvil.  At the base of the anvil is "COPYRT".  The set is slightly larger than traditional 54mm Britains.  It is metal, but doesn't have the "heft" of lead figures.  Anyone know of its possible origin?

Not sure Fife, but you may want to check Barclay?  Seem to be most popular from what I've seen.

dwiemer - Thanks for the lead.  My blacksmith isn't from BARCLAY, but through the various sites, I discovered a lot of my old metal figures are.  Some more twists and turns helped my find the John Hill & Company collection, from which the blacksmith and anvil are from.  During their hay-day, John Hill & Co were second only to Britains in England.
