Insulated Track length for a 132 Auto Stop Train Station?
Posted by Civil War on Monday, August 24, 2009 10:18 PM

The instructions for connecting my newly acquired (ebaaaaay) auto stop train station say the length of the insulated track depends on the length of the train. Does the entire train have to be within the insulated section, or just the engine? I'm not clear on that one. Can't wait to test it and put it into operation.

Thanks

Hi Terry,

I have the Lionel 132 Automatic Train Stop Station on my layout.  I use 027 tubular track and one section of track (about 9") is long enough to stop the train.  I suppose if you run your train real fast you might coast through the insulated stop section, so try a short section first and see if that works for you.  I added a switch on the control panel to turn the auto stop feature on and off, it's handier than taking the roof off to turn it on and off.  It is a fun accessory and adds variety as the train goes round.
