I set my layout up in three blocks. The common is connected to both transformers - U on a ZW and A on a 1033. The first two are powered mainly by each side of the ZW (A & D). The third is powered mainly by the 1033 (U). But, each block can be powered by any one of the three transformer sides.
Can I connect the wire from the 6019 controllers that goes to the center rails of the first two blocks to the C post of the 1033? That would give me a constant 16 volts to the uncouplers. Or must I connect these to one of the dial controls (B or C) of the ZW?

It's a good move that is often overlooked.
You can use the 6019 as a "lockon", too, by running your 16 volt wire and the track power wire (the original "hot" wire in the 4 conductor cable can be one of them - you decide) to the track section(for a total of 5 wires), and make a connection to the layout common inside the controller at the control panel.
Just don't expect to run the whole layout and all the trains through one 6019. Works great for a siding, though. Eliminates a lockon and makes a good electrical connection to the attached track with a nice appearance.

Good idea, Rob; hadn't thought of that. I'm dropping wires down to the common & center track wire at several locations to avoid voltage drop. Soldering instead of lockons.
Tried Dr. Riddle's idea of using solderless connectors pushed into the slot on the bottom of the Lionel tubular track, but didn't like the result. If my solder connections come loose, at least they'll be on top of the layout table where I can find them
