2429 Livingston Pullman

Are both of the trucks on the 2429 supposed to have pickup rollers. Only one of mine has a roller. Neither of the couplers have coils or sliding shoes. I think someone may have replaced the trucks with incorrect ones.

Does anyone know where I can get frosted clear printer paper so I can make some new windows. One is missing but I was able to scan the remaining one and clean up the image in Photo Shop so I can print it if I can find the paper.

Terry:

I think that the 2400-series cars always had rollers, not sliders.  According to the Service Manual, cars produced before 1954 came with solenoid-type couplers and two rollers.  Cars made after that date came with the 478/488 type coupler trucks with one only having a roller.

Check at an Office Supply store, they used to have transparent sheets used to create foils for presentations back in the days before Microsoft PowerPoint.  The clears sheets came in two varities - one that could be run through a laser printer and one that could be run through an ink jet.

I'm also thinking that there should be some repro window silohuttes available - you want 2400-28 for the right side and 2400-29 for the left.

Good luck!
