K-Line Semi Scale Hudson
Posted by krapug1 on Friday, February 6, 2009 2:23 PM
One of my "go to" engines is my K-Line Semi Scale Hudson from their first run in 1997. A great feature of these engines is their scale is perfect for lay outs with 31" curves, or in my case today, 36" fastrack curves, and they look at home with this track. No extreme over hangs and the like. Alas, she is not running, the engine light ups as normal, the electronic whistle works great as usual, but the engine will not move. I did take the shell off of both the engine and the tender to check for loose wires, but everything appears to be as it should be. Any thoughts on this ?? Thanks Ken

I picked up one of these last year sold "as is, broken". When I opened up the tender the motor board was missing. Maybe these are prone to failure. I just replaced it with a Williams E unit taken from a TMCC upgrade. I think you can find them for 30 bucks or less. I would guess any electronic E unit would work. Might want to ask on the buy/sell boards for used ones. These are great running engines. As smooth as anything made. Pete
