2430/31 AND 6440-1-2-3 PASSENGER CARS
Posted by trainguy2 on Sunday, January 18, 2009 7:02 PM

Hi guys, over the last few years I''ve been able to put together one of each of the three car sets of tin passenger cars, ie: 2430/2431 blue and silver.... and one set each of the brown and the two tone green 6440 cars. I have been searching parts suppliers for weeks trying to find replacement window strips since most of the cars are in dyer need of new ones. I ve tryed olsens, east coast, hobby surplus etc. but no one seems to have them. These are the frosted plastic strips with no figures. Does anyone know of a parts dealer that carrys them???  O r should I try to find a suitable plastic and cut my own. Any help would be greatly appreiceated. Thanks Vince

Try some plastic and a coat of dullcote.

If you are looking for a rare train, ask i might surprise you with an asking price!!! A guy asked if i liked fast track, and i replied i used t-rail. He said eww that old stuff you bolt together???? Ignorance must be bliss!

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.............  was out today and found a thick plastic book binder with a frosted like finish. I'm going to cut it up and see how it works. I should be able to get about 8 strips out of it. If it looks good it will be 4 dollars well spent!!!!  I'll let everyone know. Thanks again Vince
