Williams Turbine Locomoative

Does anyone out there have a Williams Turbine Steamer?  How do you like it and how does it run?  Is it better than a pw 671/681 and will it stand up over time like pw lionel does?  I saw one on line for a real good price but I don't know enough about Williams to buy it.  Thanks

Bruce......I have a Williams #671 Steam Turbine.  I also have a Lionel #671 Steam Turbine and Tender from 1949.  The Williams runs great and has a nice digital whistle. It is just as good as the Lionel for performance.  My Williams is one of the earlier models that has the True Blast Whistle, but no bell. The current ones have the bell.

New Williams 671s are listed at $279.00.

Hope this helps.

I like my PRR S2-100 Turbine, #671 by Williams. I bought it in December 2003. No problems at all. Nice whistle, bell, and the smoke unit works well. Though I rarely use the smoke feature, I did test it out and took a few pictures of it smoking when it was new. I paid $259.95.

If you don't have a local dealer, Marty at Ma & Pa Junction has them new priced at $199.00.  He is a great guy to deal with.

No, I don't get a commision, just a satisfied customer.

Every club and layout i've seen running Williams engines love them . They're out and out workhorses and exteremely reliable . Built like tanks .... strong as the devil ... and just keep on running . A friend brought his steamer over and hooked her up to my Z-4000 and a long line of DIECAST cars and she pulled them like they were plastic ! Sad to say I don't have one yet .
