First of all, in the latest issue there's a great story about Clark and Barbara Dunham and theirlayout construction business, of interest to many three railers who know about their Citicorp and other layouts. The other eye opener is the review of the MTH HO Mohawk. It appears you cannot get the darn thing to work in non-DCS, DCC conventional DC mode properly because it's been designed to work with up to 24 volts DC, which is twice the NMRA 12 volt standard for conventional transformers. So it has a top speed of 25 miles per hour with your standard issue HO transformer. What's up with that? Plus it's priced about 25-50 dollars more than the comparable model with DCC and sound from Bob Grubba's company, which does work properly with NMRA standard transformers. Interesting, to say the least.
