Hmmm,
I would but the Lionel Pennsy Mikado TMCC Starter Set and the Postwar Celebration Series 736 Berkshire set. For you, I sadly have nothing to give, as I am more of a "traditional" man, rather than a "scale" man.

J. Daddy: If you're looking for a small group to get together with around the Metro Detroit area...way around...I'm with the Motor City O-Gauge Railers. We just formed the end of last year, and we meet once a month at each others home layouts. Layouts vary in size...I think mine's the smallest, 4'x7', up to 30'x40'. Typically everyone runs TMCC and/or DCS. Locations vary from the Ann Arbor area, to Waterford, to Grosse Isle, and in between. We took the summer off, but plan to start up again in the next month or so. If you're interested, please send me an e-mail.
challenger3980: Nicely done! Remember you only have the radius headaches once, and you'll get to enjoy them for a long time, and you don't have to worry about what to do with that dead corner.

Kurt,
Sounds great I will give you a shout. Would be nice to travel to some local shows too...
Did you get a chance to get to "Trains in the Park" last Sunday? It was a good meet, I was tempted many a times to buy, but I escaped with only spending 25 dollars....

J Daddy,
I meant the 0-8-0 with no sound and no TMCC with just an air whistle. I'm thinking about getting one. I like them better than the little docksider tank switcher.
Funny, you are looking for the high end stuff, but I am waiting for the red comet to show up. I may also look to the new conventional classics for either the GG-1 set or the Virginian FM. So for me the answer is different than for you and its all good.! So to answer your question, since I like the Pennsy, I'd go with the M-1 in the 2008 volume 1 Lionel catalog and since I just read the CTT test of the UP 4-8-4, I'd say one of those in black would be cool as well.
So there you have it, two engines for me and two more for you.. Have fun...

In the infinite words of Homer Simpson I would have to say " U.P. Northern 4-8-4 aaarrrrghhh" (add drool here) grey or black very nice... this has caught my eye for a while....Just thought if it were a scale loco and had all the bells and whistles it would be the fun running locomotive and not the shelf princess most of my postwar locos have become.

With the proliferation of roadnames I am not concerned with picking a location so the sky is the limit in road name ( I am looking more for what is the best and most fun to run in features), my max radius has not been determined yet buy I am looking to contain it to O-54. What two locomotives would be "got to have" as far as details, fun to run, and tops the TMCC features with great sound! Thanks for the Help!

What purpose did your last two posts have? They have said nothing relavent to the topic (except for GET THOMAS AND FRIENDS STUFF, which is really no help at all). If you want to post decent posts then by all means do, but if all of your posts are going to be like the last two as well as the others, then don't bother because they only annoy people.

Chesse you do HAVE TO DO THIS because I not like you I'm different well I tell you this Thomas The Tank Engine is much older than you anyday because He was born In 1927 so you don't have to be mean to get you point thur to someone O.K
One MORE THING CHESSE YOU DON'T Have To be a jerk to get your point across because I'm talking about this subject because my would be Thomas and Percy Of O gauge locomotives so beat that.
Gentlemen,
I do believe we have a troll. After Bob locked his thread, he went and posted another Tank related question on the MR Forum, then posted still another on Garden Railways. We have seen this pattern before. He says he's 15 but his Youtube profile says 25.

But Dennis, if he is, what is his intent? Dont most trolls have an intent in being a troll?

Hi Grayson......some people get their entertainment from disrupting or disturbing others, and then watching the reaction. One of this gentleman's threads got locked after advice from Bob Keller was not heeded.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
( http://www.youtube.com/railroadboy1 ) He has also eliminated his 25 year old age from that profile.
The common denominator in all his posts was getting people to check out his profile.
My Dear Sir,
I was refferring to all your little "look at my youtube page" posts, which I (and I'm sure many others) refer to as spam.
Just a side note: Multiple posts such as your little defense or whatever above are frowned on here. This isn't youtube or the Bachmann forums.
One benefit from this thread are the ideas it has promoted in my mind. Like planning a layout's track curve radius and switches or wiring to accommodate what I don't have now but may acquire in the future.
Thanks for the ideas.

Thanks Jack, too bad it was tainted, but anyway I think the forum has helped me decide as well what to plan for in the future. Seems the track is just as much as the trains these days!
A couple of steam locomotives that Lionel has made, or will be making that will fit O-54 curves would be.
All 3 of these run on O-54. Hope this helps.

Just curious, since I am a big fan of the S-2 turbines, but what scale S-2 turbine do you have that takes "fairly sharp curves"? I only know of three scale S-2 turbines that were ever built. Two were built by Lionel and one was built by, I believe it was Weaver, and was all brass. All three of those locos need a minimum of 72 inch (072) curves and are over 30 inches long (with tender). If you have an MTH S-2 turbine, then it's not scale. It's definitely big, and it will take 042 curves, but it's not scale. Oh yeah...my vote goes to anything MTH for loco purchase Dep

Thanks Greg,
Love the new Berk, have not seen the M1a, but now I will have to check it out. I think I will nash teeth and tear out what I need to make the 072 radii work... then I guess I won't have to worry about it again....
J. Daddy
I can't wait for the arrival of the Pere Marquette 1225.
J. Daddy, since you live in Michigan (like me) have you seen the REAL 1225 in action?? We saw her last weekend in Alma. One word : awesome.
Going back to the topic, I wonder how many scale engines Lionel released in the late '90s to present will be re-released with Legacy. Could a K4 and others be on the horizon?? I wouldn't mind a K4, but think my train budget is going to be empty for a while after 1225....
