Regarding the concern about the Legacy units having to go in for upgrade......

Now this IS service.......

2:45pm July 14
- Email sent by Lionel: "This email is to inform you that we have finished the software upgrade on your Legacy system and it is in the process of be shipped back to you."

3:32pm July 14
- Email sent by Lionel: "This email is to inform you that we have received your Legacy system for the software upgrade. On average this upgrade process will take between 4 to 9 days to be completed.

Now I ASK you, just HOW Many companies are out there on the highway chasing down these delivery trucks and reworking these systems BEFORE they even arrive at the factory ????

This is part of my TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) Delivery service, Don.  I took it upon myself to deliver your legacy system 5 days prior to the date that you shipped it.  Hey, what a friends for?  Wink [;)]

If Jim is that good, you should be receiving your unit back yesterday and the Lionel confirmation that your unit is fixed should be sent to you tomorrow.Thumbs Up [tup]

At least they seem to be getting them done quickly. And I really don't think it is Lionel thats doing them. If it was that other toy train co,nobody would know how long it would take to fix and return.

If they fixed it before they got it, did you really need to send it back?

From what I remember, someone on OGR said that he thought Lionel would send all the confrimation emails at the same time for every RA givin so far. Turns out he was correct. Maybe this guy is a prophet? Wink [;)] Laugh [(-D]

I also received great service from Lionel. Sent my base on Thursday, July 3rd by 2nd day air, and Lionel got it Tuesday. (I think UPS needs to refund me. 6 days when I paid for 2 day delivery Whistling [:-^].

Lionel sent it back to me the same day by GROUND and it got to me, in GEORGIA, 2 days later! I spent $20 more for it get there in 2 days, and it got there in 6, and they sent it to me for $20 less and it gets there in 2! Angry [:(!]

Oh well, at least I have my Legacy back... Wink [;)]

But Kurt, I had to bring it....  da da da da!  Back to the Future!  Laugh [(-D]

I agree with Sir James - compared to say something that Microsoft or some other company would do, this is apparently going very quickly and without major mishaps?  Kuddo's to Lionel!

Good one, Kurt, lemonade shot out my nose! Laugh [(-D]  Must remember to keep kleenex by pc.  From the sounds of it, Lionel is turning the stuff around quickly, which is better than slowly.  A few jokes about the communications are ok provided the results are there.  Let's applaud the results.

Grayson, if you are wondering about the 2 day delivery thing, I think you may have selected the 2 business day option.  If so, holidays weekend days don't count.  And if shipped too late in the day, the ship date is considered the next business day.

I have to agree with the final result.

It seems Lionel is righting any shortcommings, with relatively little complications.

I received my R16-44 back from Trainz, with a new R2LC08 board with no questions in 8-business days.  On the whole, Excellent service.
