Trying to find information on a train set
Posted by sgc77c on Friday, May 23, 2008 11:00 AM

I purchased a train set from a gentleman about a year ago. Recently talked to him again and found out that the set in originnal box is between 70-90 years old. Recently got it running. The name on the box is "Girard Pennsylvania 10 000 inner Electric Train Set". Where do I find the set number on the box? I would like more info. on this set. Thank You.

Depending on the set, it may not have one printed on the box.  Get the information on the pieces and post the name and unit numbers on the forum here.  By figuring out what pieces you have, perhaps we can figure the actual set.  Some times, when special orders were made, they didn't have a printed number on the set.  It may be a Marx or Lionel, or a couple of others.  More information will help.

It sounds like a Marx set to me.

One of the Marx factorys was in Girard PA.
