BEEP Old Question
Posted by traindaddy1 on Saturday, February 9, 2008 6:30 PM
Awhile back when I first got my BEEP, I asked a question and for the life-of-me can't remember the answer. Can two BEEPs run back to back pulling a train without causing a problem? As always, many thanks.

If by back to back you mean facing oppisite directions then yes you can by removing shell and replacing it in the oppisite direction on the second unit(shell will fit either waySmile [:)]) hope that is the right answer to question.

Hi traindaddy,

If you want to run them nose to tail Circus Elephant style facing the same direction, just couple them up and you're good to go. If you want to run them back to back, facing opposite directions, then CSXect is right, flip the shell on one unit 180 degrees and you are all set.

Just an FYI, if you look at the side sill on most (if not all) of these you will see a small F painted just behind the first stanchion on the long hood end, this designates the long hood end as the "FRONT" of the locomotive, and in normal operation would be run long hood forwards.

Also, these will automatically start in forwards after being powered down for a short period, so if the e units get out of sync, just power them down for about 15 seconds ( I am not sure of the exact time required, but start with that) and then they will be synchronized again.

Have FUN with them, I really like my Beeps,
