Williams Sound Units
Posted by Rickster on Monday, January 7, 2008 7:34 PM

Hello from balmy Minneapolis!

I'm looking for information about the Williams sound units.   Can they be used with Lionel Postwar or MPC engines with AC motors and traditional e-units or do they require the Williams electronic reverse units?

Thank you!  I look foward to hearing from you.

all you need is a lead from the middle pick up and a lead to your frame or outer wheels I have it hooked up in a 8956 Southern U36B dummy amd also put one in a empty tender

The Williams sound units come with their own circuit board, as long as you just supply a center wire and a common you will be ok.  Don't try to use the Williams sound units with a D.C. motor and transformer as it will constantly sound and wear out.

I have put Williams sound units in unpowered A & B units; both Lionel and Williams. Able to buy the True Blast sound system for only $20.00 but I have to pick it up from my Williams dealer.
