Smoothest switch operation or train operation? It depends on what you are running, too; brand, vintage, model. Is fixed voltage capability a priority? Is non-derailing a priority? How about lighting or signaling? Do you have a preference there too? There are many options, new & used.

For modern equipment, the O-27 profile K-Line switches can't be beat(illuminated, non-derailing, fixed voltage capable, good guard rails). They were available in 27" & 42" track diameter profiles. Lionel has yet to re-issue them as they already have competing(but argueably inferior) products.
what do you mean by 027, rail height or radius?

The O-27 profile(height) remote control K-Line switches were available in 27" & 42" track diameter for O-27 track, this would be 13.5" radius & 21" radius respectively.
I guess the question would be, what do you mean by 027?
