Lionel SC-1 power supply what are the specs? Please answer ASAP

I had hoped to wire up a communtiy Christmas display tonight wiring the accesories using the Lionel SC-1 to control them. But I now read I need a seperate power supply for it.  I'd like to use or make something I already have.  it says it's 12v  is that AC or DC and how many MA  or Amps.  Thanks Dave

The SC-1 takes a 12 volt AC transformer. But if you power at least one switch from it you won't need that to get it to work.

Remember although the SC-1 was spec'd at 1 Amp outputs the devices used are only rated for 600 milliamp. Depending on what you want to power the SC-2 is a much better choice. The solid state outputs were replaced with 15 amp relays.

Thanks, were using SC=1s because we have 3-4 of them.  I understand they are inferior.  Dave
