Trying to find an old issue of CTT
Posted by PostwarMan07 on Friday, November 23, 2007 1:45 AM

While responding to another thread I remembered the magazine I got that gave me the lionel bug.  I was wondering if anyone could help me find it...

The cover had a Two loops with a siding crossing the middle of the page connected to the inner loop.  Im pretty sure there was a 2350 NH EP5 rectifier and a pair of santa fe F3s.  In the middle im pretty sure there was a 128 newsstand (could have been a 145 gateman instead...not sure which).  There was also a ZW to the side.  I think the backround was black.

I remember there being an article on a man who received a berkshire for christmas in the 1940s.

I think the time period is between 1994 - 1997.  This is the best I can remember the magazine.  It would be cool to have the magazine that got me into the hobby again.  Maybe a long shot, but does anyone have any info on this issue??

Nov 1995 had a cover illustration  which was a section of one of Angella Trotter Thomas's paintings "Thanks, Dad".  Inside were a series of stories about past Christmas memories by John Lima, "An Amost Perfect World",  Peter Bradt's "A Good Yea AFter all", and Mike Novack's "Memories in Black and White".

 Hello John W!

I think I have the CTT Magazine you're looking for. It is from January 1999 & on the front is a Photo of a New Haven 2350 EP-5 & a MTH Z-4000 & on the inside is a story of one John Anderson who had a Lionel Layout in the 1940s & the pictures were taken in black & white & are very clear with a photo of a new 1946 726 Berkshire pulling the Irvington Passenger Cars & a 675 & 224 pulling their Freights as well. The layout diagram is also shown. There is also a story of a Prototype New Haven EP-5 Lionel made with L-I-O-N-E-L on the sides. If you want this issue, Just e-mail me with your address & I'll send it your way. Take Care.
