I have one on order thru Amazon. It's suppose to be delivered a day or two before Thanksgiving. I'm having the family over for diner so the movie will be good to watch with a little pumpkin pie instead of popcorn. [dinner]

They seem to have the best price, $15.95. Saw them elsewhere for up to $10. more. Too bad the IMAX 3-D won't be showing in as many places this year. I may have to drive to Atlantic City to see it again. Joe

It is going to be in IMAX after Thanksgiving, it's much more expensive than just regular theatre, but probably worth every penny. And you better pre-order tickets, because they'll sell out fast.

I plan to buy the DVD, even though I found it to be just a good film and not a particularly great one, but I'll wait until after the holidays and pick it up for less than $10 at Wally World.

I'm not surprised that PE will not be showing in a good number of theaters again this holiday season. Because we're train fans, we tend to be very enthusiastic about any train-related film like this. But from a more pragmatic point of view, it was most likely received as a good film with a whole lot of groundbreaking technoligical innovation, but not a classic film that is destined to survive the generations as something of a holiday staple.

Interestingly the book did not receive a great deal of promotion when it first came out. It is back on the shelves at your local bookstores again this year for Christmas.

My personal benchmark for "Classic Holiday Films" is "A Christmas Story"...If I had a choice of getting The Leg Lamp OR the Polar Express Lionel train for a Christmas present, it would be an easy choice...

Yes, it is scheduled for select IMAX theaters. But those are relatively few and far between to begin with, and PE will only be in some of them. The DVD stands a much better chance of exposing the movie to folks who may not have seen it before.
