A brief history of the word "maybe" in my life

The first time I heard "maybe" from from my dad [:O]
"Can I get that new train engine dad?" "Well maybe, if the train shop is open."

The second through the sevenhundredth time was from various women over the years [:(!]
"Do you think you'd like to catch a movie Friday night?" "Well maybe, if my mother's sister-in-law gets out of the hospital."

Now I hear the word used extensively by many prospective employers [sigh]
"Thank you for the interview and can I look forward to hearing from you?" "Well maybe, if we decide not to relocate to China."

You'd think by now [D)] I would learn that "maybe" is French for "No."

Who says life isn't a learning adventure?
And could it be that "no" in French really means "maybe."

Guess we can't leave out the middle man, now can we?[:-^]
I predict this thread to be 26 or 27 posts long; 1/2 way between the other 2 threads[%-)]

Maybe I'll lay more ties and rails today.

And maybe I'll eat the worm in my tequila.

Maybe there's a rabbit under this matt of vegetation. I just know that there is. I smell it! I smell it! Here wabbit, wabbit.

When I'm not chasing wabbits, I like to chew up David's rug.

Maybe he'll think it's funny.

You guys (Dave and Tom) are too much! [:D]

Do you guys ever put the admission person to the "test" at a train show? I mean, I wonder if they would let in a dog and a bird?

I guess the answer would be if they spent enough money!

Which begs the question "Who would carry their bags?" Or would Spanky and BB get into a heated debate over which company makes the best trains?

Of course, you wouldn't have to worry about getting their bags mixed up at the train show: one bag would have the Parrot Potatoes Reefer and the other the Dad's Dog Food Box Car!

Have you ever typed a post and before hitting the "submit Reply", reconsidered and said to yourself "maybe not."
