Christmas run at the museum last friday, visitors were a bit sparse but it was still fun.

Motive power, triple header of 0-6-0's nturally lead by Santa in the NPC:

Lots of gifts:

Followed by some nourishment:

And bringing up the rear is the hand car flat, pampered reindeer car and the NPC Work Caboose with a lited Christmas Tree:

Loaned a few other Christmas Cars to another member, was afraid about excessive load factor for docksiders, so I didn't get photos of them.

The best part is seeing the smiles of the visitors !

Here we have SOUTH BRANCH VALLEY B&O 6604, bringing the weekly Pilgrim's Pride train, known as the "chicken feed", through Cumberland, bound for Moorefield,WV.

Bringing up the rear is jonadel's CPI car, sporting a flashing EOTD.

Unbeknown to the crew of the "chiclen feed", PAMMY and some of her PETA pals are protesting in a nearby town.  Wanting to draw attention to themselves, and most willing to go to jail for their cause, this group wanted to stop the train bound for the poultry plant.  But, they had came ill-prepared.  A very helpful bystander, suggested that PAMMY had all she needed to stop the train.

...and he was right! Shock

As fate would have it, another local was inbound with a cut of cars from the west coast...

The poor conductor couldn't signal to the engineer in time.

Poor feller was nearly smothered to death in the aftermath. (Wonder how that first report of injury form read...Whistling)

Finally, local law enforcement arrived on scene, and ushered PAMMY & Co off to the greybar hotel.  And the very helpfull bystander (seen at lower right) seemed most pleased.

Goes to show you, two EMD's are no match for one 42DD.

Tough act to follow, Fife.

All I can say is Christmas 1958:

Also, the management of the Katy Central has reached an agreement to allow limited track useage rights to PRR for extended service of their newest passanger equipment:

Excellent photos again today folks.

8ntruck,

Things are looking pretty busy there on the Ping Pong Prairie.  It must be the holiday traffic picking up.

Fife,

I agree, your docu-drama is tough to follow.  I'm thinking any other postings would just be a bust.  Smile,Wink, & Grin

Here on the Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines the holiday traffic has indeed begun to pick up.  It is also the kick-off of the Winter Carnival in Wausau.  Each year in the downtown area the Chamber of Commerce hosts an ice sculpting competition.  This year there was plenty of snow and cold temperatures to get things underway.  The sculptors have been out on Lake Wausau cutting big blocks of ice to do the sculpting.  I wandered downtown with my Kodak Brownie to take a few shots.  Here are some of the sculptures already in place.

The station master says there are a number of special passenger trains scheduled to bring tourists up to see the sculptures and participate in the festivities.

Several sculpting crews have been out working every day.

One of the attractions is the ice wall and gates that the sculptors and public works employees build around the park area.

Folks always look forward to the ice sculpting competition as a part of the holiday festivities.

Here is this year's entry by the sculptor who won last year's competition.

I hope your preparations for the holiday are going well.

Sure are some great photos!!!  Especially the ones with the kids!  The intensity and sincerity is just overwhelming, love their expressions.

Lots of good train and layout pictures!  I certainly will have a lot to check out for damage when my car gets back here.  Then again maybe it won't...I mean afterall 42DD..... The car may NEVER get back, it could be lost forever.  May have to send out a search party.

Great Job guys!!!

I finally finished the trains, houses, trees, etc. for Christmas. "The town is celebrating the season with two decorated Steam locomotives at the main entrance to the downtown... Tinplate (Lionel) meets Ceramic (Dept. 56-- Non powered) for the celebration. "Mrs. Claus meets with children as a part of the celebration. She also decorated the Christmas trees along the tracks, and trimmed the hedges to dress up Valley Road... "Even the airline is getting in on the act, as this Bi-Plane added a red stripe for the holiday... "After the celebration, the Red train heads to another station to spread the Holiday joy..." I hope each of you have a great holiday season the next week or two. Stay safe.
