CB&Q,
It is a very good forum and place to visit. Regarding your issue with MU vs Lashup, I have seen a number of folks use both. As another mentioned, you may get a informative answer to explain why proper terminology says one is better than the other, but I have rarely seen it mentioned for any other reason than explanation....not vitriol. With regard to new folks asking questions, you are right again about how it should be. Often, if a new person asks a question that has been addressed, I, or someone else may suggest that they use the "search" function for questions. This is not to put them down, but often, questions have been asked before and by doing a quick search, you can get a whole list of answers without having to wait till folks have read the thread. Regardless, you will not get an ambush of people jumping on you for asking a question that they too had to be given an answer to at some time. Some may question a thread being locked or deleted, but in the end, it is CTT's forum and they give us the freedom to use it within the rules they have. They certainly have been kind in my opinion. I have respect for the majority of the posters here and have made friends with a good number. It has become a good place to share about trains, and on the pot, everything.

I like the fact that everyone is not hung up on rivit counting. It's nice when a model is really close to prototypical, but I don't see it as an absolute must have. For me, sometimes the added cost is just not worth it. I enjoy and accept my collection for what it is... toy trains. Everything doesn't have to be absolutley correct to the last detail. Less than prototypical trains are a practical necessity sometimes, in order to keep costs down. I enjoy fantasy designs too. They add a lot of color and fun to the hobby. Life is too short to get hung up on every little detail being faithfully reproduced. Seems to me like those expecting it are setting themselves up for a lot of disappointment and a much more expensive hobby. Nice to not hear a steady mantra of what this or that manufacturer did wrong.
I agree !
But I did get a tad cranky when my "GrimReaper Gateman" didn't arrive until the friday after halloween.

guess I better get this ready the clock is almost done. so hows everyone today? been nice here in southwest desert and rec'd ctt friday man 3 mags to read guess the first of year will be sparce for train magazines! hope to run some trains today tis the season well actually for most here the season lasts 24-7- 365, 4 things needed for a train lover, a space for a train layout, a trainset and track, electricity and the fourth, a very understanding wife. have a good day all
I really get upset when a new fellow may ask an old question and get blasted for it .... #1 .... if it's answered long ago and you don't want to help him .... don't read his post ... #2 do you actually expect a new member to know to or search 1,000's of posts trying to get the exact perfect answer ? We should all have that kind of useless time to do so ..... and #3 .... seems some think they are the almighty moderators and experts that want bowed to .... only CTT personel are so .... and are the only ones designated to do so . 99% of us will gladly answer you ... it's that 1% of almightier than thou in their own minds that need to back off and just help these new folks . . No one knows it all ... it's a collection of many for decades ... so new guys ask any and all the questions you want ! It takes alot less time just to answer than referring him to links and past answers both for him and you than blasting them about asking for info .
Ole Timer,
How have you been?
I agree with you that anyone, new and old, can ask any question without fear or being mocked.
C.T.T. Forum members have experience, knowledge, are freindly and give an answer much quicker when It's needed, than having to research for it. Besides, when one individual asks a question, the answer will, also, answer a question that another forum member might have, but didn't think to ask at that time.
On a different Forum, I made the mistake of asking a question and most of the members replied that I should not waste their time with such a trivial question.I came away convinced, that I asked them for a wage increase! For sure, I don't want to join their outfit, even if they paid me!

I'll PM you of the other forum.
Your shirt idea sounds great, maybe something of a work type shirt with two patch *** pockets, that have button down flaps and some sort of left *** forum membership logo and long sleeves. The color could be either a medium green, blue, yellow, khaki suntan, or a 'Santa Claus Red'.
That's my opinion for what it's worth.
CTT shirt? We asked about that some time ago. Seems one was done years ago and CTT got stuck with "leftovers" or something like that. I think it is a great idea. Maybe we need to ask again. They did do a box car and delivery truck a year or so ago. Think they may still have some of them.

I'm for collared shirts, not T-Shirts. Most of us have bellies that just don't look good in T-Shirts. Long or short sleeves would work for me. And the style now is to wear regular shirts outside the pants, great for us!
Just my opinion.

Pat,
sounds good to me for it to be a collared shirt how do you feel towards a polo shirt?
