I went five years without an Alco set on my roster, and in two weeks, now I have two of the nicer ones - the 2033 UP 50th Anniversary set and a new running mate - a 2031 Rock Island A-A set. For a dose of post war whimsy, I also acquired a really excellent 3444 Cop & Hobo Gon:

Every week I look forward to seeing the photos.  You all do a great job.  However, one thing puzzles me Confused when I review the pictures and then look at my own layout.  I seldom see signs of "dust" or scratched used-looking consists. I must be doing something wrong! Smile

Atlas was in town friday evening debuting the new San Diego & Balboa Park Trolley, currently the only one around. The rest are in a container somewhere on the Pacific. Approve

Traindaddy1,

All you need to do is check out some photos of prewar tinplate and you will feel much better.  Its all scratched and dusty.  Wink  As you look be sure to notice the imperfections.  Some folks call that character.

Great picutres this week.

Traindaddy - you are not doing a thing wrong.  Run your railroad the way you want to.  Some of my favorite pieces have about 50 years worth of dust and scratches.  It is part of what they are.  I don´t think that I´ll ever clean them.

Vandalism was discovered on the Ohio CPI boxcar this am, while picking up the car from a siding to go on another run for canning supplies.  Mrs. Stumpfler's cows also found they're way out in the fray.

Northwoods Flyer:  Wow!   Now that you point it out I see that my layout certainly has lots of "character".   Thanks.

I really like the way the Frosty Bar in this picture is decorated.  Did it come that way?  If so, what was the year of production?
