NORTH COAST LIMITED LIGHTWEIGHT OBSERVATION CARS
Posted by NP Eddie on Saturday, July 21, 2012 10:27 PM

This post is regarding Northern Pacific North Coast Limited Lightweight Observation cars, which were retired in 1967.

I was working an afternoon clerking job at Old Northtown (present day 35th Avenue). Trains of the NP and GN would stop on their respective tracks and wait for the NP switchtender to give them the OK to proceed westward to receive train orders.

One afternoon there on an observation car on #25 and the next day a dome lounge sleeper was in its place.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the six cars? I know one is in the Duluth Museum. I saw a picture of the CBQ car painted imitation silver.

This is a great place to exchange information.
