Here is the 4449 in Richmond, CA in June, 2009. No, it's not that 4449. It's not the famous Southern Pacific GS-4 class 4-8-4 steam locomotive. This is Richmond Pacific's 4449, an EMD SW-1200 end cab switcher. Richmond Pacific is a switching line located in the harbor area of Richmond, CA. I understand that they gave it this number so that railfans would get all excited when they heard "4449" on their scanners. At least once this 4449 met the other one 4449 went it was in the area. Now RPRC has renumbered this one to just 49.
