Amtrak Timeliness Records
Posted by AmtrakRider on Sunday, May 20, 2007 7:54 PM

Hello everyone,

Does anybody have a clue where I can find information about Amtrak's on-time / lateness record for the last few months?  I hear lots of people saying the trains are always late, but I haven't been able to find the "proof", so to speak.

I am currently particularly interested in the Cardinal, especially eastbound, but information about any routes would be useful.

Thanks,

AmtrakRider

This is the same link from  The Auto Train on-time performance.  It will give you up to 3 weeks.

Amtrak publishes detailed delay reports in their monthly performance reports. Go to http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/am2Copy/Title_Image_Copy_Page&c=am2Copy&cid=1081442674477&ssid=238 and scroll down to the monthly reports. The March '07 report has the delay info in section E of the report.

It varies from train to train and sometimes specific reasons (like repairs to the line) cause lateness.  It can be difficult to predict.
