Northbound Train 170 took multiple delays around Gate untill across the bridge so maybe the problem was near there.  Many speeds 0 - 10 MPH.

Amtrak is delaying all trains NEW HAVEN <> NYP due to unscheduled track repairs.  MNRR is not reporting any delays so must problem must be on Hell Gate trackage.  Again we have Amtrak with a misleading notice without any suggestion of using MNRR between NHV and GCT.

Have to wonder if the construction on the Hell Gate line damaged the track?

Service disrupted between New York and New Haven

July 22, 2024 09:30 AM

Service between New York (NYP) and New Haven (NHV) is temporarily canceled due to an unscheduled track repair. The track repair is estimated to take at least 4 hours. Amtrak is communicating directly with impacted customers about this service interruption and offering options for rebooking their travel plans. Amtrak apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the disruption. Crews are working hard to correct the issues.

Customers with reservations on affected trains will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.

You could with a slight stretch consider this another Crowdstrike issue, except it doesn't deal with The Cloud.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Predestrian hit between WASH and Baltimore.

July 19, 2024 10:50 AM

Trains traveling between Washington Union Station (WAS) and Baltimore Penn Station (BAL) are experiencing delays due to a trespasser coming in contact with a train south of BWI Marshall Airport (BWI). Authorities have requested single tracking conditions on all train travel in the area as they investigate. Normal operations are expected to resume once the investigation is complete. We are on standby, awaiting crews and authorities to determine an estimated time for normal operations to resume. Customers traveling in the impacted area should expect delays of at least 30-45min. We will post updates here as they become available. We appreciate your patience as we work through this unforeseen service disruption.

Customers with reservations on affected trains will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
