Myan train report

article has many pros and cons about the first trip on only a portion of the open line.  An awful lot of security.

On board the first Maya Train: The locomotive is modern but incomplete and guarded by helicopters (msn.com)

If you haven't already you should watch the WTYP episodes about Mexico's two big railroad projects.

So much security, in fact, that the military will be responsible for the operation when the project is finished.

Sad that no one could be bothered to check the spelling of 'Alstom'.

With that show the longer the episode, the better it is.  Train episodes also tend to be their best work.

If you're interested, they also did a three part series on Penn Central that adds up to almost 9 hours.  Also well worth it, with a fun tangent into the Executive Jet shenaningans.
