A substation sign said 230 Kv power,. Many of the transformers use cooling fans to run air over cooling pipes filled with coolant. Report that someone smelled oil at a damaged sub station. Now if protection circuits did not function properly the transformer(s) may be permanently damaged? Duke power may have to bring in a spare or even borrow from another power company.
