Given how many unsafe crossings there are for freight and Amtrak (read: on the cheap) perhaps snow plow flat should be attached in front of cab?

Question regarding Amtrak engine crew safety
Posted by ndbprr on Thursday, August 11, 2022 8:08 AM

All the newer Amtrak engines appear to have moved the crews closer to the front of the cab.  They also have a design with an upward slope toward cab on the nose.  This gives the appearance that it would be fairly easy for something like a semi trailer to ride up the nose in an accident and say hello to the crew or worse.  What if anything is under the body to help protect the crew?
