They also run on BNSF between Seatle and Vancouver BC, CN & CP in Canada. The Colorado/Utah train is all on UP/former Rio Grand track.

My wife and I took the Rocky Mountaineer from Baniff to Vancouver over 20 years ago. Overnight in Kanloops. Gold Leaf. High cost but I think we got what we paid for. Every thing was well planned and there were no faults in anything. We would highly recommend it. And the CP route is beautiful though those double decker cars with their open platform.
We have taken the CZ with Budd domes, the Rio Grande Zepher, the Amtrak California Zepher, over the Denver-Green River route. Pulled a trailer to Moab. And driven over Rollins pass and through the eye of the needle when it was still drivable. (Not with the trailer) Fantastic scenery.
It was a nice review. Wish they had said something about their overnight hotel accomodations--unless i missed that part.
The delays were understandable and didn't seem to impact their trip any other than being late for dinner the one night.
After 26 years of Dispatching - there are no two days alike - in the trains on the railroad, the trains HOS status, MofW requests/demands for track time, mechanical issues with trains on the territories, priorities management has placed on various trains on the territory, crew situation at crew change locations and likely a dozen more. In the case of the Rocky Mountaineer - sightseeing.
Interesting review but I have to say WOW at all the delays they experienced on such a short route. Too much traffic or not enough sidings? Or both?
