So this would be in the New Center area of Detroit where the current small Detroit Amtrak station is. They want to enlarge the Amtrak station, widen the station platforms so that baggage carts can use them. Add Escalators or Elevators to track level. Add pedestrian tunnels under the tracks to the Bus Station across the tracks. My guess is the mixed use development leased space would be part of the same project to offset operational costs of both the bus station and train station. Bus station looks quite large compared to train station.

They are also talking about doing this in addition to any future use of Michigan Central Station which Ford bought.
