I rode the first eastbound trip from Moab to Denver in August. The 2021 schedule was for the train to run Denver-Glenwood Springs on Day 1, on Day 2 the train ran Glenwood Springs to not actually Moab, but a siding about 5 miles north of town right along Highway 191, arriving about 1pm. The westbound passengers were then put on a bus and drove to a hotel in town, which ended their trip. The new eastbound passengers got on those buses and were driven out to the train and loaded up. The train then left around 2pm and stopped for the night in Glenwood Springs, then on to Denver the next morning.

While the train was sitting at the siding in Moab, the on-board crew turned the seats and the locomotives were run around the train, so there is no need for a turning facility around Moab.

Does the equipment run empty from Moab?  What do most passengers do?
