Chicago Union Station Update
Posted by CMStPnP on Saturday, April 24, 2021 5:46 PM

Looks like Amtrak is almost finished with the new Clinton Street entrance in the center of the Great Hall out to Clinton Street.    Looks like a classy job they did and it blends in well with the rest of Union Station architecture.    Doors and windows are all in place.    Large Vestibule space between doors to outside and doors to Great Hall looks unfinished still and I think this is where Amtrak intends to place another small food court.    Space is available for lease still according to sign on exterior door.

Also, southbound Texas Eagle into Dallas was late today on account of a UP RR train in front breaking in two at Terrell, TX (broken coupler knuckle)......Just East of Dallas.     They kept 1/2 freight on main next to our siding and we followed the other half being towed at restricted speed to another siding closer to Dallas but eventually passed it.    Then we had to take a siding to let three Northbounds pass us that were backed up due to the incident.
