Most Gov and State agencys have a Spanish/foriegn language option when calling...Does Amtrak have one?

Most Gov and State agencys have a Spanish/foriegn language option when calling...Does Amtrak have one?

Everytime I call the DMV or Social Sevices or the transit agency there is English press one and Spanish press 2...I know that VIA rail and Greyhound does this.. and Amtrak should have a option for Spanish for its customers who span. International travelers should also have a option to make reservations in there native language as well. I am not sure how Eurorail handles the laguage barrier with a dozen languages to work with/

I have not had to press 1 for English in years. Most systems now default to English, and only require a number press for Spanish.

Can you distinguish between Chinese and Japanese writings?

VIA's 1-888 number automatically uses English, but I have just enough French left to discern that pressing 1 will switch it to Quebec's mother tongue.  

I thought you were going by 'Deano' these days.  This has to be some sort of record for switching accounts.

Amtrak's 1-800-872-7245 opens with a blurb regarding COVID-19, face masks, etc.  Then Julie comes on with options to check if a particular train is running on time, get schedules and prices, reservations, or something else.  If a caller is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, h/she is instructed to say "agent".  At the end of these pre-recorded options, the caller is given the option to have the menu switched to Spanish. 
 
It is unusual to have the Spanish option at the end of the menu.  In most cases, based on my experience, it comes at the beginning of the menu.  
 
I have been calling this number several times a week for years.  The bit about COVID-19, which was added in March, will be dropped once we are on the other side of the pandemic, whenever that will be.

Actually yes, the calligraphy is slightly different between the two.  In no way am I an expert but in the copier service manuals we were issued (when they were hard-copy) a number of different languages from around the world were utilized and identified and you could see the differences in the Asian languages. 

Interestingly, Vietnamese uses Western European lettering, not Asian calligraphy.

As I looked at the text, there did not seem to be enough strokes to be Chinese, it was not box shaped enough to be Korean and from having a Japanese exchange student live with us for several months I knew that there is a simplified Japanese, hence my guess.
