I am glad I was never so late when going east because I usually had a connection in Chicago and in Washington.

There is a report in the Newswire section of the this site; you have to scroll down to find it in the third section.
I saw on the noon news a report that the train had been stopped for twenty hours. Was it the train that left Chicago Friday? It has been only about fourteen hours since the train that left Chicago Saturday was due here.
BaltACD Electroliner 1935 AMTRAK #5 & #6 blocked by bolders on track. From KUTV KUTV — (UPDATE: Sunday at 9:30 p.m.) – The train holding the 57 passengers – guests combined from two trains – is moving and just passed Helper, UT, according to Steve Edwards who says he is on the train. He added the crews were able to remove the rock, fix the problem, and offer everyone a complimentary meal. He criticized Amtrak when speaking to 2News on Sunday night: This doesn’t erase the fact that we had scheduled to keep. This isn’t our problem, this is Amtrak’s problem, they made it our problem. We want our money back. Editor's note: This is from a person who claims to be a passenger on the train that has spoken directly with 2News via phonecall. Amtrak has not confirmed or denied if this man's perspective on the event is valid, nor does he represent the feelings expressed by the other guests. (UPDATE: Sunday at 6:30 p.m.) – Train 5 passengers are now on Train 6 but are experienced more delays caused by another boulder blocking the tracks, Amtrak stated. Make that boulder pay. I am sure it has a web site set up for such customer complaints. [/sarcasm] Force Majure!

I would say that the general public has little, if any, understanding of railroad operation.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
AMTRAK #5 & #6 blocked by bolders on track.
Why should Amtrak be critcized? Did some Amtrak employee drop the boulder on the track? I should direct my question to the man who blamed Amtrak.
