why is it that the tracking no longer works for the detour portion?
Jim, Pat and I saw the westbound yesterday, in Glen Ellyn. My guess is that he would be easier to figure than the eastbound, since he wouldn't have had much opportunity to lose time. My guess for West Chicago would be within 45 minutes of departure from Union Station.I wish I had the opportunity to ride while this set of detours was in force...even though I've done trips to Clinton often enough, anything west of there would be new territory to me. Alas, we're headed the other way tomorrow.

eolafan Can anybody tell me when Amtrak 5/6 is coming through West Chicago daily during the current reroute? Thanks

JIM(eolafan) : I have no idea about your question on times for AMTK 5or6, but this was posted on this Sat AM by Jeff H.

The east end for the detours depends on the train. Some get off the UP at Clinton, some go all the way to Chicago. Some may go to Edelstein to regain home rails. If you see a BNSF engine leading on the UP side on the Rochelle camera, it's a detour.
"About the luck of the draw, I just got called for AMT6X. Seems to be running late today."
My guess was he'll get (?) a six to eight hour notice(?)
