Was the Washington DC First Street Tunnel ever modified to accept taller rolling stock to accomodate Superliners? I'm finding conflicting sources online. One states that the tunnel was modified to accomodate Superliners but, since the cars were not yet available in sufficient numbers, it was not used on trains.
I know today they use Viewliners but I'm curious about this.
