It is Amtrak who should be on trial. Brandon Bostian and the engineer involved in the Dupont tragedy are also 'victims'. They are 'victims' of Amtrak's dangerous hiring and training programs coupled with incompetent supervision. PTC is not the be all to end all. Electronic aids can and will fail and one must be sufficiently qualified to operate without them. Nothing precludes proper training and Amtrak has shown time and again that it is not capable of providing such.
