Crescent Train 19 which departed New York (NYP ) on 12/8 is currently operating about 2 hours 45 minutes late due to weather related problems north of Greenville (GRV). Please check for updates.

Crescent Train 19 which departed New York (NYP) on 12/8 is currently operating about 5 hours late due to Norfolk Southern freight train interference north of Toccoa (TCA).

Guess the freight(s) stalled out or air hoses separated ?

They are advising folks in North Carolina to stay home unless it is an absolute emergency.........so it sounds like a pretty bad storm.

NS and CSX shutting down Amtrak

Evidently the ice and snow storm coming thru Georgia , Carolinas, and Virginia is causing a bunch of Amtrak cancellations.  Appears these RRs expect too many trees and power lines to go down ?  Would expect that ice on limbs and power lines and then up to 1.3 feet snow forecasted EDIT to revised figure )( we doubt that ) will leave signals out with not enough standby generators to distribute.  As well all the bumper cars will block access to the signals.
