Anderson was not hired to fix Amtrak, he was hired to bury it.

So far I have not seen Andersen say or do anything that would give me cause for concern.    I think his proposed cuts are in the right areas.    Have my doubts he will follow through with the PTC threat.     I think he made that threat more for the kick in the pants it provides.......also he is probably angling for a waiver from Congress so he doesn't pay through the nose for insurance.

Anderson's mission is clear - poison any support for Amtrak and then kill it.  The same strategy that the Class 1's used to divest themselves of passenger service half a century ago.
