New Tel Aviv Island Airport with shuttle train

Yesterday-the Interior Ministry took a decision that they will build an island off TEL AVIV---and there they will place a short runway (1100 meters), for all the small aircraft that fly into BGA.  50% of all flights are to Europe, or Cyprus with small (under 180 passengers) aircraft.

This, Island -off- the GUSH DAN (Tel Aviv and suburbs) mega-city  and her  airport will cater mainly to the GUSH DAN population (about 3 million), and a shuttle train will run passengers from the mainline rail line to the airport (no cars).
Steve Sattler also suggested that all the facilities for this new (but small) airport be underground---with stairs or elevators to the planes. The island is made of rocks and concrete---about 600m off the TLV beach.  The whole center of the island canbe the complete airport service center-UNDERGROUND-and thus save a lot of filling material.
Now, We wait 5 yrs to get the thing built!

Steve
