I talked to my wife today who is staying in County Kilkenney. The power was off for about two days and everything shut down. She commented that we've had much worse Santa Ana winds in Southern California compared to the last two days in Ireland.

Nothing found in Railway Gazette yet. Sad Here are a couple of news links:

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/storm-ophelia-2017-path-live-uk-updates-as-storm-ophelia-kills-at-least-three-in-ireland-a3660681.html

https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/16/16481940/hurricane-ophelia-ireland-meteorology-weather

Coverage read elsewhere shows that some locals were in denial until the storm hit, shades of the recent Florida hurricane.

Hurricane "O" has done major damage to Ireland.  Reported worse storm in half century.  How have the Irish RRs stood up especially the passenger ?.  Noted a lot of electric service disrupted.
