Will "The Canadian" be 24 hours late?

At 20:35 EDT on Friday, August 4, the westbound "Canadian scheduled to depart Toronto on 8/2 is 18 hours and 49 minutes late approaching the Saskatchewan-Alberta provencial line.    In fairness, it left Toronto about twelve hours late due to delays to the trainset on the inbound trip.    Embarrassed.

I suppose the three-day gap between the Sunday night and Wednesday night departures will allow Via to catch up in terms of train-set placement.

Unfortunately this would not be the first time it has been over 24 hours late.

I wonder if there are any ways to speed up servicing of the consist in Toronto, and how much they would cost.

Greetings from Alberta

Shouldn't matter about the schedule as train travel in Canada is only for the wealthy, a trip across Canadaland will set you back a wad of money, no young people travelling by train in this country eh?

Trains are packed this year especially with young people travelling on the Canada 150 Youth Pass.

FUll Fare on the Canadian can be expensive but I've travelled several time and have never paid full fare....just be flexible with dates and there's always deals.

Sign up for 'Discount Tuesday' and you'll get an email each week with more deals.

And although the Canadian has ben running very late....It is the exception. There are numerous other trains..... on several routes in the Quebec City to Windsor Corridor and also the Ocean to Halifax that generally run on time.
