Closed the mainline to replace the diamond with the Sandusky Dock tracks.
Pete-M3Interesting detour. South from the Sandusky area, then west/northwest from Bellevue, then north at some point, crossing over the Water Level, to just north of Toledo and then south, somehow back on the regular route. Now sitting just west of Toledo at 3:50 P.M. From what I could tell, very slow running. Track-a-train showed no more than 30 mph, and several instances at zero. Nine and one-half hours late. Wow. Probably too much train time for even a certified foamer. Can anyone provide a likely, more specific routing? Or the cause? Pete

No idea of the routing, however, Pilot crews would be needed on any detour route.

Wow might be a derailment or planned maintenance of way. Is their any mention of it on the Amtrak' s site?
There must be an obstruction (wreck?) of some kind in the Sandusky OH area of the NS Water Level Route, since a very late 49 is taking a detour, which you can follow on Amtrak's Track-a-train function on their web site. Right now (1 P.M. EDT), it's in the Bellevue OH area, so I'm guessing that part of the detour involves the old NKP. Any speculation?
